On August 14, U.S. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) visited Reed Family Pharmacy, a
Good Neighbor Pharmacy member located in Ardmore, Oklahoma and owned by Rebecca and Paul Reed. The visit resulted from their outreach to the Senator utilizing the
Take Action page of this website (
OurIndependentVoice.com). During the Senator’s visit, Rebecca and Paul discussed the biggest issues facing their community pharmacy, and provided personal examples of how PBM issues and DIR fees impact their pharmacy, their patients, and ultimately their community. They thanked the Senator for his demonstrated support in Congress for community pharmacy, which includes him asking PBM focused questions during committee hearings and his support of
S. 413 – The Improving Transparency and Accuracy in Medicare Part D Spending Act, legislation in the Senate which would ban retroactive DIR fees. Senator Lankford appreciated their insight and even highlighted his visit to the Reed Family Pharmacy on his official Twitter account.
